Do I stop or go, turn left or right, obey or disobey, go up or down, do I eat that rich dessert or not? Should I watch that TV program or not? Do I better my education or quit now? IT'S YOUR CHOICE!

Choices, you make them everyday and many of them require that you choose one or the other. And the choices you make will determine your outcome in life. So it is with your eternal destiny.

If you died today, would the path before you be heaven or hell? Do you know where you are going? Are you certain? There are only two choices - Heaven or Hell. There is no "middle road." The choice you make now will determine which road you are on. The Bible is a map for life, which gives clear directions and which expresses God's great love for us. You either choose to follow God on the road to eternal life or you don't.

There is no way to "sugar coat" the facts. If you died today and you did not choose the free gift of salvation then you are not "in a better place." The Bible clearly says, "The wages of sin brings death, but God's gift of salvation brings eternal life." (Romans 6:23) God has given each of us the opportunity to choose for ourselves whether or not our names will be recorded in The Lamb's Book of Life.

The Bible defines Hell as a "lake filled with great sorrow, weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 22:14) and "If anyone's name was not found in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire." (Revelations 20:15)

If your neighbor's house, parents' home or the home of your children or a friend was ablaze in flames, would you stand there and do nothing or would you do everything possible to save them? You would do all you could to save them and God is no different! He reached down to pull you out of the fire by sending His only Son Jesus to die for your sins. "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have life eternal." (John 3:16) The Cross on which Jesus died is the bridge between Heaven and Hell. Clearly God is a loving God and does not wish for any to perish. Yet, He has given man freedom to choose - right or wrong, yes or no, life or death. Without this freedom of choice, you would be nothing but a puppet. But, you are given the freedom to choose God's love or reject it. God's love and the choice of salvation brings eternal life and Heaven - which the Bible says is the City of God, lit with His very presence. It is a city made of gold and filled with precious jewels. (Revelations 21:11,18) "And nothing impure will enter it nor anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life." (Revelations 21:27)

Going to church will not get you to Heaven, being good or doing good deeds won't get you there either, nor will all the knowledge about the Bible. There is only one way to Heaven. John 3:3 says, "No one will see the Kingdom of God (Heaven) unless he is born again." This is a spiritual birth and is done by "confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he did not believe in the Name of God's one and only Son." (John 3:17,18)

SO, WHAT IS 'YOUR CHOICE' TODAY?

If you have decided to choose life and the gift of salvation, pray this prayer out loud: Father God, I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord and that Jesus died for my sins. I choose life and the gift of salvation this day. The Bible says that whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. So I thank you that as I have called upon You, You have made a way for me to have eternal life! Amen.

NOW WHAT?

• Pray and ask God to show you areas in your life that need to be changed.
  Pray for understanding as you read the Bible - your map of spiritual guidance. Salvation is not "religion" but a way of life.
• Read your Bible daily, this will provide fellowship with God, daily food for your soul and will help you grow and know the heart of Father God.
• Fellowship with other Christians. This will give you strength and encouragement as you grow spiritually.
• Tell someone of your life changing decision today! This will help to reinforce your choice.
